Eric Zadorecky Bio | Q&A | Photos | Guide Info

Q: If you were given only one species to pursue for the rest of your life what would it be?
A: Not to cheat on the answer but I'd have to choose either salt water fishing or winter Steelhead...those two are so close eh? In the salt there's just something about not knowing what you're going to hook into; could be a 12" Sea-Trout or just as easily a 200 lb Tarpon. On the other hand, I do like the serenity and challenge of winter Steelhead, it's a nice break from the hustle of urban life.
Q: What's your most memorable fishing experience?
A: The drag on my fly reel when I hooked my first Jack Crevale!! I thought it was going to melt!

Q: What style/technique are you currently working on?
A: Spey... I enjoy both the casting as well as the fishing end. I've taken a couple fish now and am realy hooked. Now if I could only master that Z-Cast ;-)

Q: What's your next new challenge/interest going to be?
A: Most likely Great Lakes Musky on the fly. Therešs so little written on it and even less on video. With the thousands of miles of coastline I'm hoping to find at least a couple fish to play with.

Q: If you could change one thing in the fishing community, what would it be?
A: I'd like to show that fly fishing isn't just for Trout on streams. There's a whole other world that you can enjoy with the long rod that most don't even think about, from Great Lakes Walleye, Pike and Musky to farmpond Bass and Bluegill. Most of us don't have the luxury of living within a short commute of a Trout stream, so we've got to make due with what we do have locally.

Welcome, Randy Gerrick
