Mike Durkalec Bio | Q&A

Q: If you were given only one species to pursue for the rest of your life what would it be?
A: No brainer...fresh STEELHEAD!
Q: What's your most memorable fishing experience?
A: Hooking several browns and 'bows up to 21" one summer afternoon on the South Platte, CO, on grasshopper patterns. I didn't catch ridiculous numbers, but I targeted and landed every riser I found that rare day. and each one was a quality fish over 16".

Q: What style/technique are you currently working on?
A: Always learning new things about each method, but currently refining my float fishing most actively.

Q: What's your next new challenge/interest going to be?
A: I'd love the opportunity to fish wild British Columbia steel. My "challenge" will be coming up with enough expendable income and free time to do it!

Q: If you could change one thing in the fishing community, what would it be?
A: See regulatory agencies, sportsman's groups, and individual fishermen more diligent and cooperative about coming up with and implementing solutions to the issue of increasing posted property on our streams.
