Basic Rod Building

Basic rod building is easier than you might think. It doesn't take a lot of time or specialized equipment to turn out a great looking rod!
I started building rods as a kid, and have finished well over 100 rods so far. I didn't, and still don't, have any specialized equipment, jigs, or anything other than what I could find around lying the house. I'm not one for fancy diamond wraps, ivory inlays or anything else that doesn't directly enhance the performance of the rod. I prefer a relatively plain looking but well made rod. Join me as I build, step-by-step, a nice little 4wt trout rod.
