The Sparrow Nymph is a great general pattern for Steelhead, Trout and Salmon representing a number of aquatic insects.

Step By Step:
|
Start thread and wrap to bend.
|
Strip some fibers from the base of the pheasant feather and tie in, trimming excess.
|
Tie in rump feather as shown.
|
Dub body.
|
Tie in the pheasant rump feather to form collar.
|
Slick back and secure.
|
Tie in filoplume and wrap forward towards the eye. Sweep back fibers while wrapping.
|
Tie off and whip finish.
