Red Ultra Chenille
| Another one of my "tough to tie" patterns! A highly effective pattern anywhere fish feed on aquatic worms such as the "Tubifex tubifex" which the pattern is supposedly named after. Just a "FYI" the "Tubifex tubifex" is also a host in the transmission of whirling disease! |
Step By Step:
Start with a thread base that cover most of the shank.
Cut to desired length a piece of ultra chenille. Secure it to the hook.
Whip finish or half hitch.
Additional Tips/Photos:
- Some people only secure the chenille in one spot, I find it's a ton more durable if you secure it in two.
- You can also add a bead between the wraps.
- You'll notice I burnt the ends of the chenille, it won't come unwrapped but I think it looks a little better ;-)
