Trout Mongers,

Have a trip planned mid June to the lovely state of CO. Will be using a RV as the base camp and can fish almost anywhere for 3 days.

As of now, I'm leaning towards the S. Platte, hitting the dream stream, Cheeseman, etc.. OR, perhaps going north to hit the Yampa and some time on the Colorado, perhaps the Blue.

Ughhhhh, then theres the Gunny and Taylor. Yikes, what's a dude supposed to do with only 3 days to fish??

I'm in the early stage of researching hatches, but it sound like the Salmonflies might be still happening on the Gunny, and I'm tempted by silly trout who like big bugs.

I've only fished CO once, hit the Ark., and in between the reservoirs on the S. Platte. I'll be happy whereever just to be out west, but curious if anyone can make any reccomendations. Many thanks!!

Fished a few of the streams mentioned about six or seven years ago w/ the Snowmonkey. Namely the stretch of the S. Platte between Spinney and Eleven Mile. Nice stretch of river with some great fishing. Also the tail-water below Taylor Res. was another great stretch of water. When the fish were keying on nymphs the pin was the way to go until a hatch went off.

I would say of you already fished between the reservoirs why not check out one of the tail waters (Cheeseman, Taylor, etc.)

It'd be nice to have all of those choices and not be able to decide Confused .

Good Luck

Randy
