Hey guys, anyone help me out with a question? Looking at the best way to get way down. Niagara, 15-20'. I'm using guidelines powertaper and the included heads I don't think are going to cut it. The pain is to balance the line out I'm looking at only a tip that's in the 10-15g range.... Thoughts?

Hey E,
15g's = 231.49 grains, or 17.8 feet of LC-13. On an intermediate head, that should go. Just be careful not to kill yourself casting it!
Best,

Brian

i think you may need to try a full x-fast sinking DT line. not sure who makes them anymore.

sounds like tough conditions.

Hardy makes them , there are usually a few on ebay. Maybe WC 11/12/13 body with a 300 or 400 grain big boy looped on the end of it?

Maybe not "purist", definitely a bitch to cast, but for the Niagara, lead core is the only way to go IMO.

you could always try a Rio T-14 as a tip too.

14 grains/foot & 8-9 ips rate, should get ya down with a few mends pretty quickly

some guys on the Speypages Forum use the T-14 w/Skagit Lines for their tips for dredging out West. Might be worth looking into ( Question Question )
