hello all,
as promised i have my first question, which concerns leader material and leader length. i currently spey fish for smallies with a 13' 6/7 s2h spey rod (bob meiser edition) and use lightly weighted flies (clousers and crayfish patterns) with a floating or intermediate sink tip. my first question is what length leader would most of you use for this rod? (i have read to use a shorter leader length with an intermediate sink tip versus a floating tip) my second question concerns leader material. do most of you use fluorocarbon material for constructing the entire leader or just for the tippet material? thank again in advance for your replies. otto |

sage drifter,
thanks for the reply. the average depth is roughly 4 feet and the conditions vary from cleary to murky depending on rainfall. the majority of the time i would say clear water conditions. i usually run mono leaders and fluoro tippet only as well. otto |
