Hey Gang,
just a reminder that the Great Lakes Spey Clave is coming up relatively soon, as it's a few weeks earlier than past years. Dates are April 16-17th and it will be held at the usual location (Henning Park on the Muskegon River, Newaygo, MI).
This year will again be featuring Andy Murray and Neil Houlding, along with Toni Karuvaara and Fred Vargus.
If you're new to spey fishing, it's a great way to get started. If you've been at it for a while, you'll have the opportunity to learn new styles like skagit and underhand casting along with trying out a lot of new gear.
For more information, see our Great Lakes Spey Clave page.
See ya there!
Best,
Brian |

Sweet!
Sounds like the floaters may invade the spey clave! Mentioned it to Keith1 last week and he expressed some interest. In fact, he requested I bring a spey rod out this weekend, so maybe we'll make a convert out of him. JC mentioned he may drive out with Neil for the festivities as well.
Best,
Brian |

Neil has the patience of a Saint!
utilises simple terms when describing the mechanics of various casts. and will go the extra mile to help a person of ALL levels improve
if you get a chance to work but 30mins with him i'd highly recommend it
can't wait for this years Clave here |
