Johnson, motor company bought them all, the water sheding groves worked great for there impellers. Laughing Not to mention, they worked great in reverse, but it's a pain swapping it around under water. Laughing

The flow went down the river with all the other {shucks}. It seems that there was a lot of hype without the product to back it up. I haven't met one person that had good things to say about it.I'm sure there's people out there that are perfectly happy with it. I just don't know any.I'm not trying to put Ross reels down for there contribution to the center pin market.but it deffinatly will take more than good marketing to continue to sell reels in a market that's allready spoiled with tons of great products.

They didn't even have good marketing! Did you ever see the video about the reel on their site? That guy did not have a clue about float fishing or using a Centrepin, but yet Ross Reels chose him to represent them by putting up that video. All I needed to see was that video and I knew right away that the reel was going to be less than adequate. Which from what I hear it is...

Ross is a great company, hopefully they learn from this and come out with a better product eventually...

I didn't think the finished product would live up to the "hype". Thanks to all who have satisfied my curiosity. Wink

Ya it seems the gentleman in the video was just like the company, fresh to the fly to pin conversion.one would think they could find a more worthy spokesman.but with the name they have made in the fly industry I'm sure theyl do alittle more research and come back strong. At least I hope. Maybe a Gen 2 with more options to meet certain needs or something.
