Don't be too quick to blame the rod! The other big factor is type of line and lb. test.
Even an IMX 1562 can't overcome stretchy line! Although at only 150'
it shouldn't matter.
Some days the fish are very finicky, and just barely get the bait in their mouth.( at least that's what I blame it on, when I have "one of those days").
I am just in the midst of building another IMX 1562, as I fear it might be the end of them. |

Bills right, 150' is alot of stretch to think about.
Hell you get enough practice you should be knocking body parts off them fish on the set! Big Bags and small hooks sometimes will cause that? Size8 might help? |

nahhh...I fish ALOT and have used many many rods throught the years. I fish pretty much the same water all the time and the place where my lami did not hold up I have been fishing for 8 years or so....all my controls were the same *hooks, leader, mainline, floats*.....it just come down to the rod not packing enough pop to poke the hook through their jaw. It isn't a first impression either. I have fished the rod 3 full days and have had enough takes to tell if it's me, or my equipment. I'm in no way saying that the Lamiglas is a bad float rod....just not what I was looking for in a rod to fill the slot that needed to be filled! Also for the record, I am not replacing my Lamiglas....just lookin for another rod to help where this one didn't.
but what do I know...I'm just a rookie that picked this stuff up last year |

Well I wouldn't say your a rookie
You know your swim!
intresting none the less, Is it a direct downstream take? you may not have a good angle for hook placement? lol- you'll do fine i'm sure...
everyone looses some now and then |

| the takes are from many many angles (including straight downstream), they are also from 10' away to like I said, 150'+. The rainshadow 1562 is the only rod I have fished that WILL sink a hook to the bend every time, but I don't like to carry that much weight ALL DAY LONG fishing as hard as I do. I have no complaints with the GLX 1562 I have fished *extensively* but do wish it had a little more to it....the 1563! |

6-10# 1/4 -1/2? 2.35ounce blank wt.
You can find the 4-8# easy enough, But I don't know the blank wt. on that one? do You know sniper? |
Hey sniper,
These two blanks are 2 in the same. its just that the blank with the lighter sticker rating probobly went thru G-Loomis Canada's distributership. they had a different line rating for their float rods that were assembled in their Mount Hope, Ont. plant. when it's all said and done ... same but dia., same tip dia., same over all Blank weight.so if you see a 1562 blank with the lighter sticker rating, dont worry its the same blank.
hope this helps,

You hit the nail square, timdog. They are the same blank made in the US, but the Canadian rods have a 4-8# rating because that's their impression. I bought a blank from Canada and it came with the 6-10# US sticker. |
