Morning to all, another quick question for all of you. Been looking all over the internet and trying to find a rod for fishing small streams. Mainly targeting nice fat fall Rainbows and Dollys would be up to around 27", fishing in small streams been looking for something around 11'6". Can't spend alot of money, about the only thing I have found is the Cortland Endurance. Any suggestions? Dan if you there it would be for trying Quartz Creek and some of of the Matanuska valley streams (Willow and Montana Cr.) thanks. Figured the 13' rod would be to long?

Mark
If you got the $$$$ the Loomis STR1352GLX would be sweet, or STFR1321S or the heavier STFR1365S for a little less. G Loomis Frontier STR1384S 11 1/2 feet for about $200. Fenwick Techna AV Model AVS1102UL 11 1/2 feet or Fenwick HMX Model HMX125XL-2R 12 1/2 feet.

Here`s a couple of blanks that would make decent small stream rods.
This Rainforest blank looks like it would make a good rod as well, RF2SH1382 11'6" 2 Mod. Med. 6-10 1/4-1/2 3.1 .500" 4.5 $81.99 " Cabelas.
This Forcast spey blank would work as well F1166/7-4 11'6" 4 6/7 3.3 .500" 5 $85.99 " Cabelas

I just started using a cp and wasn't sure what rod i wanted. While picking up the reel at gander mountain i found a 12 foot 2 piece ultra light crappie rod for $30. I bent it and it was similar in bend to a $200 sheffield that was longer. I know it isn't a steelhead rod but last week the pa. steelhead didn't seem to mind. I landed a dozen one day and didn't feel overmatched. None were over 26 inchs but untill i know more about what i want it will do fine. I used in on elk creek in pa. and had no problems with the rod lenght either.
