| Well once again the weather here in NW PA never ceases to amaze me. First we are in the 50s then in single digits then back up into the 20s and 30s. O well, I guess that is part of living here in steelhead alley. But this isn't a weather report it is a fishing report but they are related. The creeks are reportedly loaded with fish, but getting to them may be another story, as most of the creeks are iced over. Anglers are having fair success in the open water and catching some old ones and some fresh ones. Most creeks to the west of Erie are pretty well closed up with ice, Elk has some open water. Some have been drilling holes on Walnut but not with much success. The only creek on the east side that may have open water is Sixteen Mile. It is supposed to be in the 20s today and tomorrow dropping into the teens in the evening. On Monday they are calling for temps in the 40s so the creeks may open up but then we will be dealing with the melt down and so forth. So we'll have to wait and see how the fishing goes over the weekend, it may be pretty decent by Sunday. Hopefully we can keep the bait flyin and the fish jumpin. |
