Here's a question for Tot'edup! .What makes the older tots so much more desirable besides the fact the new ones are made in Ch...Ch...Ch....sorry.China! I have some from the 80s that I'm not sure I want to use anymore! . Any other reason? |

the colors. you should see what vintage discountinued colors of all valued cranks sell for now a days. there's a j-13 on ebay right now with a buy it now price of 80 bucks because of the color. i got very lucky with my silver scale thin fins. stumbled accross them at a baitshop going out of business. i never emptied a shelf so fast in my life |

Lot's of reasons in my eye, Metalic finishes do not stay on a chinese lure I don't care who's it is. been there done that!
No one had ever made so many colors in a lure before storm. They set the standard. They came up with custom colors sold in limited qty's- sp#'ers. Very hard to come by.
Regional colors for alaska- with siwash hooks, Japanese colors only offerd there, aussie colors from down under, great lakes colors, ozark colors, etc. Very limited amounts.
There are a 100 reasons- but the money is a big one also. You can't GET them, that makes em worth money!
The red label was made in usa, something I think we may not see in the future again. Many, many lures not made here. we loose more all the time.
I don't really have "the answere" I've been a crank addict for a long time, I grew up on storm.
When i heard storm sold I retired about 300 that I used and ONLY brought them on special occasions. I Have a bad day when i loose a lure it cost me 50$ to replace.
My wife asks me that question all the time! I'm just a junky lookin for a fix!! |

kinda like when heddon moved out of dowagiac. the only reminders of heddon in dowagiac are the lure museum and james heddon park. there also is a special place where mr. heddon used to test his lures, but it is sacred and gaurded very well
it is sad that more and more lures are being made offshore. the companies can charge the same price and pay less for labor(WAY LESS). IMO we should be helping other countries in our region, not helping china become a super economy. why not mexico, central america, or south america? just a question |
