At 56 yrs old I just bought my first spey outfit. I got the following: SageVT2 13'9" 8 wt, Lamson V4 reel and Rio 8,9,10 windcutter multi tipped line. I fish mostly the Salmon River in NY for steelhead. Any comments on this outfit? Thanks.

Hello mflytier & congrats on your first DBL hand rod.

i've never cast one yet but would like too. Have read nothing but good reviews of it.

I'm not familier with the Salmon but i'd say you made a good rod/combo choice.
