ALBIE time is almost here...less than a month and I will, hopefully, be hooking my share of these speedsters!!! If anyone is making a pilgrimage to the Northeast this Fall, send me a PM and maybe we can hookup (npi)...I'll be in Rhody the latter part of September Cool, hanging out in the "usual" spots. Any other saltwater fly-flingers out there?

I had everything ready & planning either Montauk or the Vineyard for this Fall's Blitz's...

An unfortunate turn of events recently, now relegates both my #9 & #10Wt's to recieving less use then anticipated.....

And I was soooo looking forward to attempting to blow up a #10Wt on an Albie this year Twisted Evil

Sorry to hear you won't be burning up the drags on your reels. I tried to blow up my 10' 7wt T&T Horizon (just kidding) on a couple of fish that last time I found fish out there. It handled the job just fine...beats tossing a 10wt all afternoon, a long as the wind isn't too bad. As long as you clear the line you are in good shape. Bear in mind, I am not fishing out of a boat, where a lot more accidents seem to occur, particularly when lifing a fish straight up in 20-30 FOW. I have fished for them in a boat off Montauk and will take a fish "on foot" anyday over one in a boat. They act a lot different in shallower water...much longer runs without the fish going deep, sounding, and doing the dreaded death spirals. I'll try and remeber to bring a camera Very Happy
