well had planned a trip to the great niagara for some time and things kept falling apart at the last minute so i made a pact with my buddy joe that i would be there labor day weekend...
hopped in the hybrid, popped in some eastbound and down and started truckin...
got out pretty late on fri night/sat. morning and was cranked up on red bulls and coffee so we headed to olcott for some pier action...
no go though the winds weren't cooperating(thanks to ernesto) and no fish were felt on the line...
next morning we woke to hard and consistant rain so we decided to do some shop hopping in town...
found some great deals while out there at some local baitshops(12 kastmasters glo in the darks for 12 bucks)...
after that we tried to fish(bad idea)...
rained so hard rubber suits would have been waterlogged...
this is the only pic i could get on sat afternoon...
so after that sunday we hit devil's hole and found some chrome bullets cruisin' around...
the bite wasn't really on unless you had a boat and could cover some water...
my buddy joe was the first to hook up...
but got about spooled before the fish turned the hook...
we got a few on each but nothing really i was prepared for...
that is definately a different river out there...
from the dangerous current to the depth of the river it was a learning experience to say the least...
got a nice smallie on the pin scootin' some spawn through devil's hole area...
got some nice pics of the gorge and of course had to stop at ole niagara falls and have a peek...
wish i had a boat like that
all in all i had a blast out there and hope to go back out in oct. when things really pick up(this time with my boat )...
one of the most beautiful places in the world if you ask me...
cya on the river,

Very nice Mark, sorry to hear of the weather situation. What is that shot of the rod handle of, is that a millipede or what?
