A bit late but I forgot that I never did my report up from when I went to Mexico last Christmas
here are some pics
Biggest fish of my life on...was blind casting the surf after seeing a monetr fish cruising around...I lost site of him and kept catsing to a few small needle fish and all of a sudden the line just took off as I was strippign in. If it helps that is a 10 wt fly rod in my hand look at the bend...I got spooled afetr about 20 sec got the pics because my parents were walking up the shore as I caught the fish
down to the last fe feet of backing
here are the rest of my pics of some snook etc...to abd i found the snook hotspot on my last night of the two week trip
small snook but fun none the less
some other random fish throughout my trip
loner rod from a man I met from the UK who I fished with for a week of my trip...I ended up braking my 10 wt on a cuda... 2 handed 12 wt rod but was to heavy with the huge penn fly reel he had on so I put my other 10 wt reel on
colourful little guy
I'll be back again this Christmas for my revenge on the big fish
counting down the days...gonna pick up a saltwater rod this time though and bring my Mykiss maybe (dont wanna ruin it so i gotta see if it'll be ok first)
hope you liked the pics

| Thanks for the report and good pics. Looks like the learning curve was straight up! That's a good thing. You know what they say... once you go salt you never go back. That straight 10 wt. is a testament to that. I had to that with a 5lb jack. Those salty fish are wicked strong. Good trip. |
