My first trip to the other side since we kicked off the new board so I guess I'll start this forum out. Geez, don't you Canadians fish?

Spent 2 days in Fergus hoping to catch a good Henny hatch. Friday was cold and overcast and the hatch never got going. Missed a few on nymphs and had a good one roll on my dry but we never connected. Buddy broke off one nice fish. Checked out a new spot on the river when the rain started. Fished streamers in between breaks for lightning to pass. Moved up river to hunt some bigger fish. Rained like hell. Finally got pissed not catching fish, getting rained on, and waiting for lightning to pass. Said screw the lightning and continued fishing. Stupid paid off and the only fish of the day finally came to hand.

Next day was a blow out. Woke up and the rain was still falling. Lower Grand was blown so headed up to the dam. Water was still very fishable but just after we fished around the 2nd bend the sirens came on and the water came up fast. Checked out the Credit for the first time. Gorgeous little river, but up a bit and off colored. Couldn't get the fish to cooperate. Rained pretty much all day.

Drove home in a storm of biblical proportions.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother. Oh well, always tomorrow.
