Forget the Asian Carp threat, those Ohio Steelhead poise a serious risk to fisherman! Shocked Laughing

Enjoy!

Here's a cousin to the flying carp I took the next day and decent Channel Kitty that had me fooled until I saw him. Can you say bathwater? The flychuckin' liners were in full force, but we did manage a hand full of pooled up steel everyday. Wish it didn't get so warm, I got a bit of a sunburn on sunday...

Gomer - What till you see them in person - STYLIN' is an unerstatement. They do fit quite nice and survived a run it with a thorn patch, so far so good.

MP - It's a Milner and no you can't touch it Laughing

Trev,

Careful what you call a "peice of trash"! That is NOT a common carp...it's a golden redhorse sucker and believe it or not they are a sign of good water quality (in addition to being a native species) unlike white suckers or common carp which can tolerate pollution impacted waters. I sincerely hope you didn't bonk it and throw it on the bank!

I figured since he was so big he should go back as he fought well twice for me last weekend as well as for a young little guy on a 5' UL and a Fly guy that was fishing the right way this weekend (yep same fish I'm pretty sure all 4 times Shocked Laughing ).

I'm not sure how long he'll last in there though if he keeps gobbling up offerings that easily though Very Happy

Oh, you'd be surprised...the individuals within a pod of lake-run suckers can look pretty similar to one another and can be pretty thick in a hole. Now for the only way to really tell: did they all kiss the same w/those big ole' rubber lips?!? Shocked

Laughing

I would have never thought that they got that big or there could be that many of them! I did notice they sure do like to trail steelies on gravel and inhale the eggs Shocked I suppose that's how they get that big though!

The sucker that threw me a curve ball was the one with dark stripes, couldn't figure out what it was until I slid him on the bank, was going to take a picture of him as I gave him a "hood ornament" when he missed the bag and I snagged him right on top of the snoot Laughing . Shook the hook before I could get my camera out.

A white sucker in spawning colors has stripes. Take a look a few pics down at the end of my recent fishing report (at the following link) to see a fella' named Richard holding a striped white sucker caught last week: http://www.clemetparks.com/recreation/fishing/fishingreport.asp

Does that look like the mysterious sucker in question?
