I heard that you should clean your fly line after each days use. A simple rubdown with a moist cloth is sufficient.
I wish to use a dressing on the line afterward. A friend tells me that you can use Armourall as a dressing and it will help the floatation. I also have heard that you can use a silicone type product for the same results.
What have some of you guys used?

Air bubbles manufactured in the line are what makes it float, so keeping it clean is all you need to do. I've never been one to clean it after ever trip (although that prob wouldn't be a bad idea w/a mild cleaner). A moist cloth is fine for regular cleaning, and ArmorAll does work well (keeps the line slick so it slide through the guides nicely, too). When I took up fly fishing a little over 20 years ago lots of guys swore by using mild Ivory soap for this purpose, for what that's worth.
