Muskegon River
Newaygo to Muskegon Lake

Starting right in the town of Newaygo, the Muskegon travels almost 40 miles until it empties into Muskegon Lake. The water down from town is typically slower and has several very deep pools which can be the ticket for early salmon as well as wintering Steelhead.
Access is somewhat limited with a lot of water between sites. Most, if not all, of this water is best fished from a boat, however the cautious wading angler can have miles of solitude.
