Just like any destination around the world, the local area surrounding the Detroit River has a multitude of supporting businesses on both sides of the river. Separating two major cities it offers a wide array of food and lodging options, as well as a plethora of bait and tackle shops.
Food and Lodging
Lodging can be had for as little as $30/night up to well over $500/night depending on what your comfort necessities are. You can choose to stay at one of the 5 star hotels located a short drive from any of the access sites on the river, or find a small “Mom and Pop” place outside the city close to many of the sites. Most of the staff has never stayed in any hotels near the launches so we will offer no advise here. If you’ve got questions on a certain hotel/motel, check out the Forums page under Michigan Warm Water. If you don’t find any pertinent information, feel free to post a question or contact us directly.
There are literally thousands of restraints located minutes from all the access sites. From your ever present fast food chain style to sit down 7 course gourmet dining, there’s no shortage of places to eat.
Bait & Tackle
There are a countless number of bait & tackle shops up and down both sides of the Detroit River. Here's a short list of a few that are either on the way to one of the launches or right at the launch. The list is ordered by launch site.
