Centerpin Trip

Who should book a Centerpin trip?
From the person who's never picked up a centerpin to an angler who's been at it a little bit I can teach you from scratch or build on the skills you already have. Here's what we'll typicaly run thru:
    Terminal Tackle and Gear
  • Talk about selecting the right balanced rod & reel combo.
  • Talk about the differing line choices and what effect each has.
  • Terminal tackle selection and the pro's and con's of many differing items.
  • Shotting for differing types of water.
  • Float selection style and placement for differing types of water.

  • Technique
  • Casting; Drop Back, Side Cast, Spinning Side Cast, Wallis & BC.
  • How to set up properly on a hole/run from a boat and shore.
  • How to properly cover all the water within the run effectively.
  • How to set the hook.
  • How to play the fish with ungloved as well as gloved hands. (Fun One!)
  • How to land a fish using a long rod by yourself in a boat as well as on shore.
By the end of the day you should be proficient enough to do a couple different casts well enough to get you through most fishing situations as well as have a basic understanding of terminal tackle selection, rigging, and will definately know how to land a fish.
